Profile: Big Dunc first joined Everton on loan from Glasgow Rangers in 1994, along with Ian Durrant. Joe Royle made the switch permanent when he took over and Ferguson scored his first goal against Liverpool in the manager's first match. Ferguson was a terrace idol and gave some barnstorming displays for Everton - although his disciplinary record had a tendency to blot his copybook from time to time. He rejoined the club in 2000 after an 18-months stay at Newcastle.
